BlockChain for online Elections

I was asked not long ago how could one do an election systems online.

First idea came to mind, use a Blockchain, but not so easy.

You can imagine a voting system like a Blockchain in which you start giving to any citizen in your country an address and after that you give an address to every politician wanting to be elected.

Then you put a token (1 token) in every address defined, the same as to say you give a token to every citizen.

Then you can create a Smart Contract by which on election day you give citizens the possibility to send his token to the address of the politician of his choice.

Well come to my mind the possibility that you can give this token divided to give partial support to different candidates.

Even in a more advance system you could give part of your crypto token to different ideas in candidates programs.

Very beautiful until you realize that to begin with the correspondence address – citizen should be well known in order for this to work and also that not all governments in the planet would give this a good use.

Let’s be more creative and define problems and solutions for such a system:

Problem
Old people or not tech people could be left out of the system.

Solution
Let's do the apps to use the system as simple as possible and let's help in city halls people who need help. On the other hand if people that are giving such a lot of facilities to vote don't do the effort to learn how to do it, maybe they shouldn't vote in the first place.

Problem
How do you avoid a person to vote saying it was another person.
Solution
Biometrics and 2FA. In the case I steal the address of another person, I would need for example to use my iris to proof both that I am alive and I am the person I claim I am. As 2FA I would suggest an e-mail or a code sent to the telephone.
